Setting up an account
When a customer accepts your invitation sent from your Reseller account or uses your unique Reseller link to sign up for a Cookiebot CMP account, the following happens:
The customer enters an email and password, accept our Terms of Service, and create an account.
This account is automatically linked to your Reseller account and both you and the customer will have access to the account and its configurations. The Cookiebot CMP account always starts as a 14-day free trial account.
Determining the subscription
Whenever a domain is added an in-depth scan to detect cookies and trackers in use on the website is automatically initiated. During this process the scanner will also determine the number of pages.
If there is a single domain with fewer than 50 pages, the customer can continue on a free subscription with limited functionality after the end of the 14-day trial.
The customer can always upgrade to a Premium subscription later if they need to add more domains or would like access to the full functionality.
If the scanner determined that there are more than 50 subpages it does not qualify for a free subscription and the customer will be asked to upgrade to a Premium subscription after the end of the 14-day trial. They will need to add payment information before the trial expires to ensure no interruption of the Cookiebot CMP service.
If payment information is not added before the trial expires, the Cookiebot CMP scripts will stop working and no further scans will be performed. When you or the customer attempts to log in after the trial has expired, a ‘payment information’ page will be displayed.
Receiving an invoice
If the customer is on a ‘free subscription’ there will be no payment/invoice (and no administration fee for you).
If the customer is on a ‘Premium subscription’ they will pay and receive invoices monthly in arrears.
Example: A customer signs up for a Cookiebot CMP account and adds a domain to his account on 1st of January. This is automatically a 14-day free trial with full Premium functionality.
On the 15th January the trial period ends. Assuming the customer enters their payment information they continue on a Premium subscription. That means that the first payment will be charged, and an invoice received, on the 15th of February.
The customer can choose to pay yearly in advance instead of monthly in arrears.
