Connecting customers to your Reseller account

There are three types of potential retail customers:

• Customers without an existing Cookiebot account
• Customers who previously signed up using the Manager
• Customers who previously signed up using the Admin Interface

Customers without an existing Cookiebot account

These are the steps to link a customer to your Reseller account who does not have an existing Cookiebot account:

1. The Reseller sends an "invite link" to the customer via email.
2. The customer uses the link to create an account.
3. The customer now has a new account in the Manager linked to the Reseller as a "Retail Customer". This customer can only access the Manager.

Customers who previously signed up using the Manager

These are the steps to link a customer to your Reseller account who who already has an existing Cookiebot account for which they signed up using the Manager:

1. The Reseller sends an "invite link" to the customer via email.
2. The customer follows the "invite link" to the "sign up" page.
   The customer must log into their existing account, not sign up for a new one!
3. The customer logs in using their existing credentials.
   
4. The customer's existing account in the Manager is now linked to Reseller as a "Retail Customer". This customer can only access the Manager.

Customers who previously signed up using the Admin Interface

These are the steps to link a customer to your Reseller account who who already has an existing Cookiebot account for which they signed up using the Admin Interface:

1. The Reseller sends an "invite link" to the customer via email.
2. The Customer first logs into the Admin Interface.
3. The Customer opens the user menu on the top right and clicks the link "Cookiebot Manager":
   
4. The customer is redirected to the Manager.
   
5. The customer follows steps to create a user in the Manager.
6. The customer follows "invite link" sent to them by the Reseller in step 1 to the sign up page.
   The customer must log into their existing account, not sign up for a new one!
   
   
   The customer must log in with Manager specific credentials, this may have a different password than that used for the Admin Interface).
   
7. The Customer's existing account in the Manager is now linked to Reseller as a "Retail Customer".
   This customer has access to both the Admin Interface and the Manager.
