Some Cookiebot accounts are moved from the previous Cookiebot Manager to the new Cookiebot Admin. This article explains what happens to your account and which settings work differently on the free plan, so you can choose the option that fits you.
What happens when you log in
If your account uses settings that are part of a paid plan in Cookiebot Admin, you will be asked to choose one of three options the first time you log in:
Stay on the free plan. Your banner is reset to settings that are available on the free plan.
Start a 14-day trial. Try the paid plan and keep using your current features while you decide.
Upgrade to a paid plan. Keep your current setup.
You don't need to choose anything if your account only uses settings that are included in the free plan.
Settings that work differently on the free plan
Cookiebot Admin includes the following on the free plan. If your current setup goes beyond this, the setting is reset if you stay free.

Frequently asked questions
Do I have to do anything? Only if your account uses settings that are not included in the free plan. In that case you will see the three options when you log in. If you do nothing else, your existing account and domain stay available.
Why did my banner change? If you chose to stay on the free plan, the banner was reset to settings that are available on the free plan. Settings listed above that went beyond the free plan were changed.
Can I get my previous setup back? You can upgrade to a paid plan to use these settings. You can also start the 14-day trial to try them first.
I have more than one domain. What happens? The free plan includes 1 domain. You can keep one domain on the free plan or upgrade to keep using several domains.
Does the reset affect my website's compliance? The free plan banner settings are designed to work out of the box. We recommend checking your banner after migrating to make sure it still reflects how you want to collect consent. Cookiebot provides tools to help configure your banner, but it is not legal advice.
