Next, log in to Drupal and search in the extend page for the Cookiebot module and click "Install".
Now you need to configure the Cookiebot module and add a valid CBID (=Cookiebot domain group ID)
You can find your CBID via your Cookiebot Admin or Manager. If you have not created a Cookiebot account yet, you can start by setting up your Cookiebot account;
- Add your website domain
- Select the banner style you want for your website
- Navigate to the implementation tab
- Copy and paste the domain group ID from the Cookiebot Admin into your Cookiebot module configuration in Drupal and save your configuration
- Open a new anonymous window and check if you are able to see the configured Cookiebot banner on your Drupal website. If you can see the banner, the installation of Cookiebot is complete.
How to implement the cookie declaration script inside a Drupal node
First step is to share your local Drupal environment inside the network so that the Cookiebot servers can reach your Drupal installation.
Log into your Cookiebot account and add your ngrock domain
After adding your domain you will need to perform the first scan of your website.
The scan starts automatically each month, but you can also start a new scan manually (for Premium accounts).
Once the scan is completed Cookiebot will identify the cookies on your website and will automatically categorize all the cookies they recognize.
After the scan you will see an unclassified cookie, "Olivero" - which is a standard cookie from Drupal. Unclassified cookies need to be manually classified and you can go ahead and categorize Olivero as a "necessary" cookie.
Next, log into the Drupal platform to complete the configuration.
Navigate to content and add a new Drupal node.
Insert a basic page called "cookie declaration" and save the content.
Once you have saved the content, go the Cookiebot configuration page and choose the node page title field “cookie declaration” and save the configuration.
You will see that inside your node the cookie declaration has been generated by Cookiebot including all the identified cookies from the first scan.
In the admin console of Cookiebot you can insert the purpose description of our the Olivero cookie.
Save the changes, refresh the page and clear the cache of Drupal
You can also create a custom block for the cookie decoration.
