When you first enter your credit card to pay for a Cookiebot subscription, you may see a charge of 1 EUR (approximately 1.08 USD or 0.85 GBP) on your credit card. The payment service provider charges this amount to verify your credit card and then refunds it immediately. No invoice is issued for this charge.
The 1 EUR is not related to the price of your Cookiebot subscription.
Our standard invoicing is monthly in arrears. This means it takes one month from when you enter your credit card and start a premium subscription to when you receive your first invoice.
For more information about your subscription price, please see How do I know what plan I've subscribed to? and Why has my subscription size changed?

A small charge of 1 EUR (or a similar small amount) on your credit card is typically a temporary authorization hold. This is commonly done for several reasons:
Verification by a Merchant or Service: Some companies or online platforms place a small temporary charge to verify the validity of your card before processing a larger payment. This amount is usually refunded or disappears after a few days.
Subscription Trials: If you've signed up for a free trial or subscription service, they may charge a small amount to confirm your payment method.
Fraud Check: Occasionally, fraudsters test stolen card information with small charges to see if the card works.
If the charge remains for more than a few days or you don't recognize the merchant, it might be a good idea to contact your card issuer to investigate.
