You don’t need to actively choose a reseller model. You can use one model if you prefer. You can also use both the retail model and the wholesale model – and you can even mix them so you use one model for some customers and the other model for other customers.
It is the way that you sign up your customers that determines the model.
If you want to use the wholesale model where only you (not the customer) has access to the configurations, then you should just add the customer’s domain(s) in a separate domain group on your reseller account. We will then invoice you monthly for the subscription price minus the 20% wholesale discount. You can then invoice your customers as you prefer.
See Reseller introduction: What are domain groups and how should I use them? for a guide on how to work with domain groups for your different customers.
If you want to use the retail model where both you and the customer have access to the account and configuration, then you should invite the customer to sign up for a Cookiebot account. This can be done either via the ‘invite new customer’ button on your reseller account or by using your unique reseller link available from your reseller account. You do not need to create a domain group for the customer – that will happen when they sign up for a Cookiebot account and then you will be able to access that when they have accepted your invitation. We will pay you a 40% administration fee for the first 3 years and then 20% hereafter for these subscriptions.
Please see: How do I onboard customers under the 'retail' and the 'wholesale' model? for a guide on how to sign up your customers and for details on where you can find the needed link and button to invite retail model customers.
