Cookiebot and the GPC signal

The GPC signal can currently be enabled in Brave and Firefox, as well as through extensions to other browsers. Enabling GPC will simply change the value of the navigator.globalPrivacyControl property to true.
This can be tested by entering the property above in your browser console. 

When activated, our banner will change behaviour according to the banner setup, as described below: 

1. Decline Only: When a GPC signal is present, the implied consent (clicking a link or scrolling on the site) will trigger an opt-out, instead of opt-in.
2. Do Not Sell (display banner: false): When a GPC signal is present, it will trigger a full opt-out, instead of opt-in.
3. Do Not Sell (display banner: true): When a GPC signal is present, the 'Do not sell [...]' checkbox will be pre-checked. This checkbox only shows when this banner type is re-opened. 
4. Multilevel / Inline Multilevel: When a GPC signal is present, the pre-checked options from the manager will be overwritten to unchecked.

For all other banner setups, the GPC signal has no impact on the Cookiebot consent or banner. 

Note that we do not honor the doNotTrack signal - only GPC!
