Statistics cookies by default & always on

Hi there,

Situation

I'm an IT project manager trying to help our marketing team.

After swiching to cookiebot, we were told by Google analythics that we lost 90% of our visitors. This probably isn't true, I'm assuming we just can't track them anymore. And your forum already told me that it's likely visitors simply didn't opt in for the cookies.

Currently, our cookie banner is set up so that “necessary” cookies are always opted in, and visitors can't opt out of the “necessary” cookies.

Problem

What we want is, our cookie banner to be set up so that “statistics” cookies are always opted in, and visitors can't opt out of the “statistics” cookies.

Value

We want to be able to tack visitors amounts and use this information to sell adds on our site.

  Hi there,

  Thanks for reaching out.

  You can't make opt-in mandatory on 'statistics' cookies. That goes against the GDPR guidelines thus it is not something we have made possible with our product.
