Cookiebot increased FID from 88ms to over 200ms #CoreWebVitals

Hey there, we saw an increase in First Input Delay FID when enabling Cookiebot.

We enabled it on the 5th of August. In Lighthouse performance checks I can see a huge part of 'Parsing HTML' coming from Cookiebot.

Are you aware of this? Do you have any fixes/workarounds for this?

Google's Core Web Vitals is crucial to us and we hate to lose green URLs because of it.

  Hi Simon,

   

  In order to block cookies automatically, our script will technically block rendering of the page, which can appear as an increase in the time it takes parsing the HTML.

   

  In most cases, the difference is minimal, but if you do wish to optimize, then you want to look into using manual blocking (or implement GTM which technically functions much like a manual implementation).
