The feature is on our roadmap, can't tell exactly when it will be available, but in Q3 or Q4.

Until the API is ready, you could use cypress.io to login to the manager and add a subdomian. Cypress.io can be integrated with your CI/CD environment and can be used with Docker, so that you can generate dynamic domain aliases.

  • Hi Brandon,

We don't support wildcard domains, neither as domain nor as alias.
Regarding the question if there is a way to handle multiple test environments without having to specify each subdomain, we are working on an API where domains can be added programmatically, but currently it is not possible.

    Regards,
    Elina

Any news regarding an API for adding domain aliases? I would like to use that as well for dynamic test environments (or wildcards if you go down that route instead).

    Kind regards,

    Arne

Hello, is there an update on this?

This is quite a necessary feature as most modern CI/CD systems now allow pull requests to generate dynamic test environments, and Cookiebot will throw an error on all these environments unless wildcard aliases are supported.

  • Hello,

Unfortunately there is still no option to define a wildcard or use dynamic naming so you should add each sub-domain manually.

Is this a feature on your roadmap (either wildcard or adding via API)?

If so, is there any timeframe?

I agree with Arnab Sen that such a feature would be much appreciated to make Cookiebot work with dynamic test environments / modern CI/CD.

    Kind regards,
    Arne

  • Hi Arne,

At this point, we can't bind with a time frame about when such a feature would be available, but we are adding articles here for all new Cookiebot features so as soon as there is an API where domains can be added programmatically our customers will be informed about that.

    Regards,
    Elina

It would be really nice to have this feature. If wildcards are too big an ask then a simpler implementation would be to do like Recaptcha where a domain alias of example.com would also allow all subdomains like: `foo.example.com`, `bar.example.com`, etc.
