Iframe not showing if I do not accept marketing cookies

  • Hi michela,

Actually this is not a problem because this is how Cookiebot should work. Google maps iframe is such as YouTube iframe and it's cookies are considered as marketing.
I guess that when you have implemented the iframe to your site you have added data-cookieconsent="marketing" to it and that is why the iframe is not showing until users accept marketing cookies. This is normal behavior and it means that you have enabled prior consent to this iframe.

You could check step 3 from the installation guide for more information about enable prior consent. Also you could check this article: https://support.cookiebot.com/hc/en-us/articles/360004104033-What-does-prior-consent-mean-and-how-do-I-implement-it- where you could find more detailed information about prior consent and why you need this.

Here you could find an example of how Cookiebot threat iframes (e.g. YouTube): https://support.cookiebot.com/hc/en-us/articles/360003790854-Iframe-cookie-consent-with-YouTube-example

yes, until the user accept cookies the map does not show up, which is correct. The only problem is the NID cookie is installed before prior consent. Any solution? thanks

  • Hi Stefano,

Could you please check and tell me if this NID cookie has been assigned to specific cookie category (e.g. statistics, marketing).
Usually in order to prevent specific cookie for loading initially you should assign it to specific cookie category and then this cookie would be loaded when a visitor allow the cookie category to which this cookie belongs to.

The reason why the cookie is being installed before prior consent could be because it is assigned to necessary cookie category or being unclassified. If this is not the case, please do not hesitate to write us back so we could investigate the issue further more and help you solve it afterwards.

    Regards,
    Spas

Hello, the NID cookie is assigned by default as marketing. I see it in Chrome (even using a private window and after deleting history). I don't see it in Firefox and Safari. Thanks.
