Duplicate Cookiebot on Subdomain (iframe)
Hi,
actually we have a problem with the cookiebot which is shown a second time on our subdomain:
We use a contact form on our webpage that is an iframe (on a subdomain) we embedded.
For example the name of our webpage is: www.example.com and on this page we embeded a contact form that is located on contact.example.com.
The problem is, that the cookiebot is shown for two times: On our webpage and a second time in the contact form.
We implemented the Cookiebot via the tagmanager (like in your tutorial) and added the domains www.example.com and contact.example.com to the domains on the internal cookiebot page. We also clicked the button "Enable bulk consent for all domains". But when you open the side the Cookiebot is shown twice: On the page and on the contact form that is embeded on the page. We need this because we use cookies on the domain and on the subdomain.
I also found a post that is not equal but similar to our problem:
It recommends to close and reopen the browser. But in our case the user does not close and reopen his browser because he opens the domain and the subdomain simultaneous.
Best and thanks
Daniel

Hi Daniel
This Cookiebot consent banner behavior is strange, I have some ideas about what might went wrong and could be causing this but I could not be sure without seeing the domain.
Could you send me the domain you have problem with, so I could check out what the issue is and help you solve the problem afterwards instead of guessing. If you want you could post the domain here or sent it at s.velinov@vconnect.dk

Hi Spas,
I sent you another mail but probable you did not receive it.
The domain ist https://www.vitraum.de (you find the contact form at the bottom of the page). You can also go to: https://www.vitraum.de/anfrage/fenster/. The iframe is integrated on both sides.Best and thanks,
Daniel

Hi Spas,
do you have some now information about the duplicate Cookiebot on our domain and subdomain?
Best and a happy new year

Hi Daniel
It seems that you have the Cookiebot script on both your main page and the iframe page. And that is why there is a conflict between both scripts and Cookiebot is shown twice, which is not desired behavior.
You should only implement the script on the main site and then wrap the iframe in the Cookiebot markup for iframe, if any cookies are set, in this way you will also enable prior consent to your iframe.I think that the iframe site does not seems to work as a stand alone site so you should not need the Cookiebot script there as well.

Hi Spas,
thanks for your answer. How can I wrap the iframe in the Cookiebot markups for iframe using the tag manager?
I just found examples for iframes like Youtube where the whole iframe should be blocked until the user gives his consent. But in our case we just want to block the tracking on our iframe - we can do that via the tag manager like on our webpage. But therefor we need to set the cookieconsent_marketing, statistics, etc. value on the iframe.

Hi Daniel
If you have access to the iframe script you should modify it in order to meet the prior consent requirements e.g add cookieconsent_marketing, statistics, etc.
When you add the cookieconsent attribute to the script and enable prior consent the iframe would not be active until user has give a consent about it and respectively the tracking on the iframe should be blocked.
You need to add the specific cookieconsent attribute to the iframe in order to enable prior consent.Regards,

Hi Spas,
I'm not sure. Our iframe should not be deactivated before giving a consent. It should also not be deactivated if the user does not give the consent (it should always be active).
We just want to control the conversion-tracking that is working on the iframe (because our iframe is the contact formular and we just want to control the tracking on it). Does this work? Or can we only switch the iframe on or off with the cookieconsent?
Regards and thanks,

Hi Daniel
If you add cookieconsent attribute (e.g add cookieconsent_marketing, statistics, etc.) to the script/iframe and enable prior consent the iframe would not be active until user has give a consent about it. That is how Cookiebot works regarding the new GDPR rules.
As a conclusion, if you enable prior consent to your iframe, it would be blocked (not displayed) until the user gives consent about it.Regards,
Spas0
