Issue with Javascript Plain

  • Hey Kyle,

browsers use the "type" attribute to interpreter what to run. When the type is changed to "text/plain" you are essentially telling the browser "not to run this code". So in combination with Cookiebot attribute you are adding to the script ( e.g. data-cookieconsent="marketing" ) you achieve the goal to ask visitors for their consent.

When user accepts the cookies, Cookiebot executes this block of code that you have changed to "text/plain" and sets everything that is inside ( external js files, etc.. ).

So to be more specific - changing this means that you are not executing this code unless the visitor has accepted it.

    Regards,
    Martin

I changed type="text/javascript" to type="text/plain" and added the attribute "marketing". I tested the homepage from my computer. Even after pressing OK button in cookie consent banner the ads are not showing on the home page.
