Non-EU opt-in?

Hi, I'm fairly new to all of this and have no background in coding. Are visitors from outside the EU automatically opted in or is a separate GTM code needed to do that?

  Hi Alexis,

  Yes, the non-EU users are automatically opt-in. From the Cookiebot Аdmin panel under Dialog you can choose if you want to display the consent banner/dialog and ask for non-EU users to opted in or not to display the banner to non-EU users.

  Usually, if you want all visitors to be asked for consent, then the consent banner/dialog will pop-up both for EU and non-EU users. 
  PS: you can choose which countries/territories to ask for consent.

  Yes, I'm aware of that, what I can't find any definitive mention of, however, is whether those in non-EU countries are automatically served cookies (in the case of explicit consent).

  Yes, if you choose to ask for consent only the EU users, then the non-EU users will be automatically opt-in.
