    Hello.

I would definately direct you towards creating a ticket in our helpcenter, with added details on the domain, preview to your GTM setup and instances of the changes made/or when the data shifted.

It will enable us to investigate the specifics more directly and with greater data to understand the shift.

    Exact same problem here.

Everything worked fine with Google Consent mode and in mid December our Pageviews dropped by about 95%.

Still looking for a way to fix this.

Similar problem here. Mid-December traffic reported in Analytics dropped and conversions 0... Will create a ticket.

Same problem here. At the very first visit, when the user preferences are sent, I can see the pageview hit in Analytics. At the 2nd not. I've found out, if I switch off the Google Consent Mode, it works normally...

...the pageview hit appears in the dev console in debug mode in Chrome, but not in Analytics.

We are currently investigating this issue alongside Google to see what is causing this.

I would recommend all of you to create a ticket in our helpcenter with the specifics of your domain and the numbers that you are missing, providing us with more feedback and enabling us to pint point the issue in more detail.

@CookieBot, should we disable Consent Mode and rollback to prior installation?

Same here... any definitive answer anyone?

Nothing definitive. Just that CB are investigating and that they contacted Google, now waiting for their findings.
That was about a week ago.

    Hello everyone.

At this time we are still investigating the issues with Google Consent mode and our own findings have been forwarded to Google, so they can see what is happening.

With Google Consent mode active, you will not see any data from your analytics. The issue is directly linked to Google Consent mode and this means you can remove the feature for now until we have a fix in place.

We just implemented Cookiebot and launched to experience this issue.  Have been trying to fix for 5 days... and after painstaking research we finally came across this ticket.  So, darn.

    Found this

"You may change the values of ad_storage and analytics_storage to 'granted' and set ads_data_redaction to 'false' if you want to default to an opt-in before the end user has submitted consent, for example allowing for a default opt-in under CCPA."

    here: https://support.cookiebot.com/hc/en-us/articles/360016047000-Cookiebot-and-Google-Consent-Mode

    Has anyone tried that?

We may give it a shot, otherwise, we'll follow Kasper's recommendation and remove Google Consent mode.

Additionally, the documentation should be updated to clarify that Google Consent mode impacts all users, not just those users targeted with the consent dialog.

    Hi Dave,

Google Analytics should function as it normally would if you set both ad_storage and analytics_storage to 'granted' and set ads_data_redaction to 'false'.
Do note though that if a visitor opts-out of cookies, that these standard settings will be updated to 'denied' and 'true' respectively. In the caser of an opt-in, these values remain unchanged.

    Hi all,

This is regarding GA data that may be faulty due to a recent error with the Google Consent Mode integration.

We now have confirmation from Google that the issues regarding Consent Mode have been solved for Google Universal Analytics.

This means that Consent Mode will now work correctly with Google UA and as a result you should now see an improvement in the detailing of your attribution data.

Please note that Google Consent Mode will no longer allow for live data to be collected and displayed in Analytics prior to visitor consent however data should be available for historical reporting.

A fix for minor problems with GCM on GA4 is still being worked on.
