Event for accepting just necessary cookies?
Hi,
I need a GTM-trigger that fires when a user accepts only the necessary cookies.
As far as i know there are only these three Cookiebot-events for the other cookie categories:
cookie_consent_preferences
cookie_consent_statistics
-
cookie_consent_marketing
Do you have any idea how to solve this?

Hi Dennis,
The necessary cookies are market by default so if the user does not select/accept any other cookie category only the necessary cookies have been set on the website. Therefore the necessary tags would not need Cookiebot triggers. They should just fire under their normal conditions.

Hi Spas – vConnect – Community Supporter,
thank you for your answer. I understand that but I still need a trigger.
Background:
1. User visits the site -> an anonymous tracking is loading (= a GTM-TAG)
2. User sees the Cookiebot-Banner
3. If the user just accepts the necessary cookies, I want to create an opt-out from this anonymous tracking (= another GTM-Tag)
-> therefore I need a trigger for the use case: "user just accepts necessary cookies"Regards,Dennis0 -
Hi Dennis,
There is no such trigger which fires only when accept necessary cookies because if you have tag that should always load, you'd just assign it All Pages.
You could of course create a new trigger that fires on "All Pages", with an added condition: "Cookie Consent
does not contain statistics". That way the tag will always fire, except when statistical consent has been given and the other tag should fire instead. Hope this would help you.Regards,

Hello,
This doesn't cover a situation where a user does nothing, i.e. they completely ignore the cookie pop up.
If you need necessary cookies in order for specific functions to work and you need the user's consent to set those cookies (GDPR compliance) then you cannot use the solution laid out here: https://support.cookiebot.com/hc/en-us/articles/360003812053-Hide-and-show-content-based-on-the-visitor-s-consent.
So far, I've addressed this by using Cookiebot's server side API, but it would be nice if it would be possible to use the solution I linked to above just for necessary cookies.
It isn't possible to use `cookieconsent-optin` and `cookieconsent-optout` for this use case as it appears they're only meant to work for everything besides necessary cookies.
Wrapping a div in `cookieconsent-optin` won't make the div show if the user only accepts necessary cookies.
