  • Hi John,

You are right, in order to implement Cookiebot with the IAB framework you would need to add the attribute “data-framework” to your existing Cookiebot tag with the value “IAB” as the example you have shared above.
However, if you are using Google Tag Manager, you should follow a bit different approach, because GTM  automatically strips all attributes but "src" from the script tag. So you can enable the IAB framework by including the URL query "framework=IAB" in the tag src-attribute, e.g. "https://consent.cookiebot.com/uc.js?cdid=00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000&framework=IAB".

Could you please check and tell us which approach you are using, so we could investigate the problem further and help you solve it afterwards.

    Regards,
    Spas

    Hi,
we are using GTM for other scripts, NOT for cookiebot.
I've added in the <head> tag of the html the code:

    <script id="Cookiebot" src="https://consent.cookiebot.com/uc.js?cdid=.......&framework=IAB" type="text/javascript" async></script>

but i still have the same error.

    Some background on my environment:
    - without the data-framework="IAB" bit, everything were working
    - my cdid/cbid is correct
    - i am developing this feature, so i'm using a free cookiebot account

    Thanks

  • Hi John,

You do not need to use this approach if Cookiebot is not implemented through GTM. In case that Cookiebot is not implemented with Google Tag Manager you should enabling the IAB framework just by adding the attribute “data-framework” to your existing Cookiebot script with the value “IAB”, e.g.:

    <script id="Cookiebot" src="https://consent.cookiebot.com/uc.js" data-cbid="00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000" data-framework="IAB" type="text/javascript" async></script>

However, the issue that you are describing is strange and needs to be investigated. Could you please tell me your domain so we could take a look and see what might went wrong. If you want you could post your domain here or send it at s.velinov@vconnect.dk

  • Hi John,

Thanks for sharing the domain and sorry for the delay. Reproducing the big was really helpful to detect the issue and we really appreciate it!
However, Cookiebot just released an update which fixed the bug and everything should work fine as expected now.

In order to enable the IAB framework you should add the attribute “data-framework” to your existing Cookiebot script with the value “IAB”, just how it is described in this article under 'implementation', your script should looks like this:

    <script id="Cookiebot" src="https://consent.cookiebot.com/uc.js" data-cbid="00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000" data-framework="IAB" type="text/javascript" async></script>

    Regards,
    Spas
