Our Google Analytics has stopped collecting data

  • Hi Linda,

Could you please tell me something more about the above described issue. Do you know if the Google Analytics does not collect data at all, or it does not collect data only if the statistics cookies have been denied. In case that Google Analytics works fine if all cookies are accepted, but does not works when statistics cookies are not allowed, this means that Cookiebot is blocking GA script because of the user consent.
This strange behavior could be also be caused from wrong GA implementation with Cookiebot, please check the below link and implementation guide:  https://support.cookiebot.com/hc/en-us/articles/360003979074-New-Implement-Google-Analytics-using-Gtag-Global-Site-Tag-

    Hi Spas

    Thanks for response.

As far as I can tell GA is not collecting any data at all. Even when I am logging on to the site, it is not reflected in real time.

Thank you for sending across the link regarding Gtag. We are not currently using Gtag but using the GA Universal. Would the link below be the correct implementation guide we would need?

    thanks again for responding.

  • Hi Linda,

Yes, the link you have mentioned in your post is about implementation and using GA Universal. in order to enable prior consent on GA Universal, you would need to apply the attribute "data-cookieconsent" to the GA Universal script tag on your website.
In case that you are not implemented Cookiebot with GA Universal the data could not be collected. Please try to follow the Cookiebot and GA implementation guide and see if the data is collected correctly. Also, please do not hesitate to write back if you still have problems with Cookiebot.

    Regards,
    Spas
