    Hi there,

If you choose the "Do Not Sell (Opt-in)" type banner, the banner will by default not be displayed. You can then "summon" the banner by creating a button or link that executes "javascript:Cookiebot.show()". The CookieDeclaration script also provides links that allow renewal or withdrawal of previous consent.

Has anyone determined if this is the true case. That you don't need an auto pop up but just a link for "Do Not Sell" and then the pop up triggered by it ?

Oh and Richard - what goes in the ()  in your example above?

I have found what Richard said above to NOT be true. If I choose "Do Not Sell (Opt-in)" and also choose to not show the banner, clicking on a button/link that executes "javascript:Cookiebot.show()" or "javascript:Cookiebot.renew()" does not cause the pop-up to show. Those links only work when I've chosen to initially show the banner.

(I have implemented Cookiebot via Google Tag Manager, so I'm not sure if that's what is causing my behavior to not function the way Richard has described.)

    Hi Scott Kublin,

It seems you're right. If the banner is set not to be displayed, trying to call it using Cookiebot.show() or Cookiebot.renew() doesn't work.
This isn't intended behavior and our developers have been notified of the issue.

This is a bug and has nothing to do with your implementation method.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

    Richard,

Thanks for confirming that this is a bug. Do you have an idea of when this will be fixed? (a week, month, etc.?)

    Hello Scott.

The specific bug is still being looked at and I am asking the development team what the status is.

Any updates? This seems to be a pretty significant bug since it causes Cookiebot to be non-compliant with IAB and CCPA.

Has this been updated?  We would like to use this same functionality.

    Hi David,

This bug should have been fixed quite a while ago. Please let us know if you are still seeing the same issue appear by contacting us via the "create a support request" button on the top right of this page and we will be happy to investigate this for you.
