If you are using a custom banner in Cookiebot (banner template 'Custom') and want to enable IAB's Transparency and Consent Framework (TCF) on the banner, you need to make sure that your implementation complies with the IAB policies.
As the TCF is a complex framework, we have made it easier for you to comply by introducing placeholders that automatically will insert the relevant user controls and information in your custom banner. This guide explains how to make use of these placeholders.
TCF v2.0 placeholders
In Cookiebot's standard banners using IAB TCF, the user information and controls are presented in three separate tabs, "Purposes", "Features" and "Partners". The content of these tabs can be used in custom banners by inserting the following placeholders in the HTML of your custom banner:
If your want to display relevant headers for the respective sections, you can also insert these label placeholders:
The placeholders support multi-lingual banners and will automatically adopt the language of the banner displayed to the user.
The content of the placeholders are structured HTML with unique CSS class names which you can use to format the visual appearance. See attached CSS-files for examples.
Please note that the placeholders currently are not supported for preview in the Cookiebot manager. We recommend that you set up an internal domain alias for an internal development site to test the look and feel of the banner.
