Why is the Cookie Declaration displayed on all pages?

If you are seeing a lot of text listing cookie information below the footer of your website, then this is likely due to the Cookie Declaration script being injected in the <head> section, instead of in the <body>, in the exact location where you want to it to be displayed.

When you log into your account and go to the menu point ‘Settings’ and the tab ‘Your scripts’, there will be two script tags available:

The Banner script (Labelled 1 in the screenshot below) should be placed on every page, as the first script on the page - preferably immediately after the opening <head> tag. This is to ensure that no matter which URL visitors use to enter the website, the banner will be displayed.

For Automatic Cookie Blocking it is absolutely essential that the script is the very first element on your website.
The Declaration script (labelled 2 in the screenshot below) is usually placed on one separate page, like we have done on our website: Cookie Declaration. The declaration should only be inserted in the exact location where you want the information to be displayed. This could be a separate cookie policy page on your website or embedded into your existing privacy policy.
